Almond Tree in a 3 Gallon Container. The almond tree is a small to medium sized tree with a spreading, open canopy, about 10-15 feet across. Almond trees produce fruit which is commonly referred to as a nut, though it is technically a drupe similar to a cherry. Unlike true nuts, almonds develop a leatherly flesh outside of the shell, which is usually discarded. The U.S. produces more almonds than any other country. Almonds are high in protein, low in carbohydrates and contain many essential vitamins and minerals.

They have a sweet & astringent taste, and are somewhat chewy. The nut itself is caustic until roasted, and they should be roasted outside because the fumes can be irritating. They are very fast growing under favorable conditions. The plants tolerate very poor soil and drought, but they are very cold sensitive.

Macadamia Nut Tree Air-Layered in a 3 Gallon Container. Macadamia nuts are among the most expensive, highest quality, and hardest to crack nuts in the world. Commercial production of the nut is concentrated in Hawaii and throughout sub-tropical Australia. The nuts are commonly used in baking, but they are often eaten fresh or roasted as well. They are typically about the size of a quarter, and require a vise or a hammer to open. They are slow growing and are very dense trees. They are not tropical and can withstand temps as low as 24 degrees though they prefer hot, humid conditions. Can be grown in a container up North and will get about 8 feet tall.
